Congrats on your recent retirement!  We have not fished in the Santa Cruz area yet but the beaches are beautiful and you&#039;ll probably hook into more than just surfperch. Our time was spent closer to San Diego as well as north of San Francisco.  There are a couple posts linked at the beginning of this article about California surfperch fishing spots. A wire wheel is the best way to get into the tight spots around rivets. In my experience it won&#039;t cause damage if you are careful.  Try EZ Strip low VOC paint and varnish  remover from Home Hardware Canada.  That looks to be the closest thing to Citristrip.  Good luck on your project and thanks for reading!]]></description>
